Bushy Cleans Up

This was the greatest debate yet. It showed just how inconsistent Kerry is and gave Bush some good moments. However, both of the men were beating some of their points to death. Kerry went on and on about healthcare and taxes and how we need to spend more money after the money mysteriously manifests itself out of the sky. Bush began every answer with a plug on the No Child Left Behind act which left him open to the same attacks by Kerry of how it was underfunded. The key difference in the answers, however, was that we all had heard Kerry's before and they all went the same place-nowhere. At least when Bush began speaking on education, he tied it into the answer for the question being asked Both candidates seemed more relaxed. I think Bush's improved posture and demeanor greatly effected the way he came across. Both candidates made jokes at themselves and there seemed to be less spite in the air.One thing I noticed was that Kerry has now flip-flopped in his manor, too. At first people complained of Bush's scowling and long pauses, but that was exactly the manor of Kerry tonight, despite what I just mentioned about the ease of the speakers. Kerry just doesn't realize that when you change something every four years, it never has a chance to fully settle in and have a positive effect. In the beginning, there were taxes, then cuts, then rollbacks, then more taxes, then more cuts, but taxes have mostly stayed consistent because there was never a plan in effect long enough to have a great effect on them. In addition, Kerry went back to the tax questions after they had moved on-what happened to the rules? I even heard a few compliments towards each other. Is this a kinder, gentler debate we are seeing?
