How obsessed can you get?
Here it is, the epoch of Celina football's long and glorious history. Just click on the link, no words can describe it. . .Can you say "sick". Albeit it isn't really that bad and its a bit hypocritical of me because I would probably be interested in something like this about the Celina Band.

You aren't going to buy this, but I'm going to say it anyway.
I have been a fan (and at times a fanatic) of Celina Bobcat football for eleven years. (I haven't always been a fan of the players themselves, but that's another story.) I was--like you--distressed about the literal obsession over this football team and how these kids were treated like Gods. This made them arrogant and it led to everything from me getting cut in the lunch line to date rape.
But there are certain things that you have to be on the outside to appreciate. The community of Celina revolves around this football team, and--win or lose...win anyways--this team unites the town. A sense of community is perhaps the most important aspect of society itself; therefore, a strong community yields a strong society. I know I'm just rambling here, but let's take a look at some real life examples. On October 29th, the nation (and even parts of Celina) were divided (20% of Celina voted Kerry and 20% of those who voted straight ticket voted Democrat), but on that night, it didn't matter. The town united against Aubrey or S&S or whoever. And yall are a part of that. It's not just the team. Without the cheerleaders and band, the whole Friday Night Football thing is lacking. Bottom line: anything positive that can bring people together like that is worthwhile, and you are a part of it.
Tear...I am both enlightened and inspired
