Stick It to the Gymnists

Sooo, I saw "Stick It" last night (It's the gymnastic equivalent of "bring it on"), and not only did they impress me with their soundtrack, but I am in love with the movie, gymnasts, the star of the movie, and I want to be a gymnast (I think I'm totally built for it---and I'm short enough). It might have been a little cheesy, with underdeveloped romances and an ending that left you feeling unsatisfied, but the message is what counts. I give it the seal of approval. For those of you that have seen it, don't you think that would be a great thing to do to Marching Band judges?

I don't know if the movie would be able to live up to actually watching gymnastics competitions, like the Olympics and the other minor ones. I love gymnastics! It's awesome!

Is the DPS Kosher?

So, I broke down. I empowered myself not to be lazy and I actually got my learner's permit today. I may be two years late, but at least I don't have to take a skills test administered by a state trooper when I'm 18.

Appoggiatura

Here are ten things I did today, doesn't my life sound interesting?

1. Got my chest measured by a Russian woman
2. Stole free coasters from Starbucks that say appogiatura
3. Bought some more white pants
4. Looked at British food
5. Photographed a dog
6. Camouflaged my undergarments
7. Bought supposedly British clothes
8. 4 stores and 7 hours ago, I got yet another red polo
9. Bought a guide to Purgatory by Dante
10. Realized that, while tasty, Diet Dr. Pepper doesn't taste more like regular.

Mandate of Heaven

So, 1/2 of my officer poster fell off the wall this morning during rehearsal(I wonder if it's a sign) :-( now I'm gonna have to reprint it. I'm glad that the band isn't big enough for the campaign to count too much.

Fishing for Help

I really enjoyed Mr. Fisher being there and clinicing the band today. I admit, I may have phased out at a few points in Be Thou My Vision, but I always like to have a different person give their input.

So, apparently blogger is some agent of mass evil and should be shut down and regulated so that only words that are related to extreme happiness should be allowed thereon.

Exodus

So, Juniors all over Texas just got to take the Exit-Level TAKS, and let me tell you (I know you can't hear it, but my voice is dripping in sarcasm) I don't think I'll be able to graduate. So what do we have to look forward to after TAKS, CSEC. I can't hear anything because of some sinus infection and its making me crazy. I am gonna have to find some way to make my hair look good while being colored black and hanging down in my face because I guess I just have to become emo and start crying into my guitar every night because life is stupid

Horray Japan

So, I finally got my camera today, its the sony DSC-N1, and its just in time for.............CSEC, how nice. I also have succeeded in receiving either a towel or a matching pen and pencil set every year, and this year didn't disappoint (the writing set was from Korea, though). Brian knows that everytime I receive such a gift I cannot help but think "just the thing I need, how nice." So I have a picture of my camera taken from the sony website, because unlike our brain, cameras cannot study themselves.

Ahhhhhh...

Sentiment truly does not endear it [crappy gifts].

Speaking of "endear", did you know that St. Thomas Moore wrote "Endearing Young Charms"

You know, one of these days, I am going to get you the best gift ever:
a coupon, good at any hospital, for a free lobatomy.

You know who you are

I'm sorry, in one of those ways that hopes for resolution. I don't want to lose a good friend over something stupid.

Another Complaint About Band

I think if I didn't love band, I wouldn't complain about it, but it is such a necessity. The reason people make fun of inbreds in the South is akin (no pun intended) to the reason people make fun of the band. I swear----we are inbred, and it is too dramatic. I don't mind hearing about it so much, it just makes me sad. That and that fact that nobody wants to go with me to Prom. Apparently I suck, and not in a good way, soooooo I get to be the 22nd weel of a group of people :-(

I also feel like a total band librarian failure because I haven't done hardly anything since november.

I decided a long time ago to just avoid the whole mess. I feel good about that decision.
None of us have been able to do anything because Mr. R has made it to where we can't actually do anything until he does something first. He put the music up on shelfs you can't legally get to. He still needs to give Keyes more info and room on the filing mess. He still needs to buy another binder for the audio library. The only thing that wasn't waiting on him was the bowling party info [cough] Tara

Lonesome

Ok, so all of my friends have paired off, and it leaves me as the lonely rapist, but I'm fine. Phantom was neat and moving and all (except for the part where I almost fell asleep). I think I've developed a chronic fear of being at home, and now I must find somewhere to be.
